Waffle Crush Wednesday – Pumpkin Spice Edition

gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, shred-friendly

If fall was a waffle.  It would be this pumpkin spice waffle.  Because it would still fit into skinny jeans.  Because this waffle was made sans gluten.  I love the stuff, but it is an unrequited love.  Below are actual pictures of me after eating gluten.

If you’ve ever wondered why you always feel like crap, try cutting gluten out of your diet for 10 days.  This is one component of the Ten Day Shred.  Which is not a weight loss program.  It’s a tool to “shred” components of your current diet that aren’t working for you.  And the only way to do that is to cut everything out and slowly reintroduce different things to identify problem areas.  Most people do end up losing quite a bit of weight on the shred though.  And everyone feels better at the end.

Tiny helpers.  If they didn’t cost lots of money and if Big John and I had a babysitter every now and then to go out on a date, I’d like about 3 more.  But they do cost.  And babysitters are scarce.

One bowl.  I don’t care how many culinary rules this breaks.  One. Bowl. 4life.

Look at that little face.  The most precious.  He has more experience than lots of adults in the kitchen! He’s my most consistent helper.  He can fry his own egg whites now.  (He doesn’t like yolks)  He carefully gets the eggs out of the fridge with his blue stool.  Chooses the skillet he wants to use.  Cracks the eggs and separates them in the pan.  And patiently waits to flip them.  With Mommy’s supervision and assistance in turning the burner off and on of course.  He’s going to make a great husband and Dad someday!

I suck at laundry.  I don’t even own an iron.  But I can work miracles on a waffle iron.  You win some, you lose some.

And what would a pumpkin spice waffle be without french vanilla maple syrup?  A pumpkin spice waffle without french vanilla maple syrup.
